SCOPE
Cassis Red Hill is an intimate collection of five luxury villas set among the vineyards of Red Hill on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula. Positioned on the prestigious winery route with uninterrupted views over Lindenderry Estate and Western Port Bay, the property sits at the intersection of European romance and Australian landscape — a tension that became the creative foundation for the brand.
OVERVIEW
The project began with a positioning conversation — defining the character of the property, the guest it was designed for, and the feeling that should follow them from booking through to checkout.
The name Cassis is drawn from the owner's deep connection to Cassis, France — a small, sun-bleached port town on the Provençal coast, known for its limestone cliffs, crystalline water, and the kind of unhurried beauty that stays with you long after you leave. That connection became the creative thread running through the entire identity.
From Provence comes the cicada — la cigale — a creature woven into the fabric of southern French culture. Embroidered onto tablecloths, sculpted into ceramic wall hangings, the cicada is considered a charm of good fortune, of new beginnings, and of living fully in the present. Its metamorphosis — from dormant to luminous — carries a symbolism of rebirth that felt quietly perfect for a boutique property welcoming guests into a slower, more considered way of being.
The cicada became the illustrative heart of the Cassis Red Hill identity. It sits at the centre of the brand without overwhelming it — a detail that rewards those who notice it, and carries meaning for those who ask.
From that foundation, the identity took shape. Colour was drawn from the Peninsula itself — dark earth tones — with a typographic palette chosen for its quiet elegance and versatility across print and digital.
The identity system extended across a full suite of guest-facing collateral:
Welcome cards and guest correspondence
In-room compendium
Stationery suite
